All About Membership at Rama
Mission & Purpose
At Rama Swim and Racquet Club, our mission is to foster a fun and family-friendly environment that nurtures a strong sense of community. We are committed to creating a space that encourages physical activity, social interaction, and unforgettable memories. Through our diverse range of activities and events, we aim to promote family bonding and inclusivity. Our dedication lies in providing a safe and engaging recreational hub that unites member families and individuals, one splash at a time.

Rama Swim Club was created way back in March of 1965, and is a private, members-only club, designed to provide recreational and social opportunities to its members. Rama is governed by a Board of Directors (all volunteers!) and managed by a professional pool management company. Amenities
Rama offers an L-shaped, competition-sized pool, with an 11' deep well and 2 diving boards. We keep a dedicated lap lane during pool season, with sundeck and shaded sitting areas, on one of the largest pool decks in the county.
Have kiddos under 5? We have a newly renovated, zero entry baby pool, fully fenced and shaded!
In late spring, we have a fun and active kids' swim team, from ages 5 to 18 (South Park Swim League).

For our Racquet fans, we have three lighted tennis courts, six lighted pickleball courts, and we offer Clinics, Lessons and Leagues in partnership with Charlotte City Tennis. We offer kids' tennis camps throughout the summer for ages 6 - 18.

Looking for some court play? We offer two PRIVATE lighted sand volleyball courts in Charlotte, with active leagues, regular pick-up games, and tournaments. You must be a member to join the fun.
Membership Tiers

Full Pool Membership

Full pool members enjoy access to volleyball, swim team, racquet sports and year round social events, as well as full pool access during the pool season. Memberships are non-transferable. There are three options for full pool membership.

  • Family – defined as 2 adults over the age of 21, and all dependents living with them, under the age of 21. This option:
    • Includes one caretaker/nanny/sitter per account
    • Includes 10 guest passes each season
    • Annual dues for 2026 for a family is $800.
    • The initiation fee for family membership is $1,700, and that cost may be split over two years.
    • We are currently on a 4-5 year waitlist.
  • Standard/couple – defined as 2 people, one of whom is an adult of age 21, who live in the same household. This option:
    • Includes one caretaker/nanny/sitter per account
    • Includes 5 guest passes each season.
    • Annual dues for 2026 for standard/couple is $600.
    • The initiation fee for standard/couple membership is $1,700, and that cost may be split over two years.
    • We are currently on a 4-5 year waitlist.
  • Senior – defined as 2 people, one of whom is at least aged 65, who live in the same household.
    • Annual dues for 2026 for senior is $425.
    • There is no initiation fee for senior membership
    • There is no waitlist.

Racquet Membership

Ready to hit some balls? We’ve got you covered. Rama offers 6 lighted pickleball courts and 3 lighted tennis courts, all recently resurfaced. We offer clinics, lessons, leagues and summer camps through our partnership with Charlotte City Tennis. We’ve had a great response to CCT by members, and we’re excited to continue this partnership.

  • Racquet member – defined as 1 person, at least 21 years old.

    • each membership is conveyed to one individual and is non-transferable. 
    • Annual dues for 2026 for racquet is $300.
    • The initiation fee for racquet is $300.
    • Racquet members must purchase guest passes for any non-member joining them on the courts.

Volleyball Membership 

Rama offers two of the only private sand volleyball courts in the Charlotte area. Volleyball has a long history at Rama with some of the best pickup games and competitive players around. Courts are lighted, and you may just find your new best crew when you join us.

Tuesdays – pickup games for all ages and families
Wednesdays – Adult 2v2 play
Thursdays – Competitive league play, sometimes 2v2, sometimes 4v4.
Fridays – Fall and Spring leagues

  • Volleyball member, Individual – defined as 1 person, at least 21 years old.

    • each membership is conveyed to one individual and is non-transferable. 
    • Annual dues for 2026 for volleyball (individual) is $100.
  • Volleyball member, Couple – defined as 2 people, one of whom is an adult of age 21, who live in the same household.

    • each membership is conveyed to those two individuals and is non-transferable. 
    • Annual dues for 2026 for volleyball (couple) is $150.
  • Volleyball members must purchase guest passes for any non-member joining them on the courts.

  • You must be a Rama member to reserve courts and court time.
  • You can only reserve courts by logging into your member portal and clicking on “Reserve the Court” under volleyball.
